Washington quarter 1932

The Washington silver quarter was made to celebrate the bicentennial of the United States’ first president’s George Washington’s birthday.  Released in 1932, George Washington still appears on the US quarter.  Although Washington quarters are now a nickel clad copper coin, it was made with a silver content of 90% from 1932 to 1964.  The US mint has, and continues to issue a silver quarters for mint state and proof sets, sometimes as 90% and even 99.9% pure silver.  More information is available at:  silvercoins.ag for the Washington quarter.
