1836 Gobrecht Dollar

The Gobrecht Silver Dollar was struck in 1836 thru 1839.  These are 39 mm in diameter.  The 1836 had 1,000 business strikes.  The 1836 were 26.96 grams and 89.24% silver and 10.76% copper.  The US Mint changed the silver composition of all silver coins in 1837 to 90% silver and 10% copper.  The 1837 to 1839 coins weigh 26.73 grams.  There were 600 business strikes of 1837 however they are dated as 1836.
