1797 Draped Bust Half Dollar small eagle

The Draped Bust Silver Half Dollar was 89.24% silver and 10.76% copper, weigh 13.5 g, and 32.5 mm in diameter.  There were only 3,918 produced in 1796 and 1797 with the ‘small eagle reverse’. Then production resumed in 1801 through 1807 with the ‘heraldic eagle reverse’ which had 1,600,787 struck.  There are many variations of both types.  The ‘small eagle reverse’ is rare and usually well circulated but even in Good condition carry a respectable price.  Feel free to go to www.silversoins.ag for more information on the Draped Bust Half Dollar.
